LITTLE BIT ABOUT AMBER
Have you ever come across a beautiful, translucent stone with a warm, golden hue? That stone might be?
this stone is Amber a naturally occurring fossilized resin that has been used for centuries by many cultures. It’s made up of complex hydrocarbons and is usually yellow to brown in color, The most valuable type of this gemstone is known as ‘natural’ which contains insect inclusions; this lends it an attractive visual appeal because of the variety of shapes and sizes within its material.
this gemstone often forms in sedimentary layers near bodies of water and due to its dense makeup, it can float on top of these waters until it eventually washes ashore where it can then be collected by people. Although classified as an organic gemstone, amber does not meet the requirements for being deemed a mineral – instead, it’s considered a semi-precious stone.
The process of fossilization for this type of tree resin starts when sap drips down a tree trunk and hardens in contact with air or soil. Over time, these droplets become harder still until they eventually transform into gemstones due to pressure and heat becoming trapped inside the hardened sap. As such, amber represent an incredible example of nature’s ability to preserve itself throughout history – something we can marvel at today.
